A 500 level student was sent to prison for mocking Aisha Buhari on tweet

 

Aminu Muhammad, a student of 500 level at Federal University Dutse, has been sent to prison over his tweet where he mock Aisha Buhari.

A student was arrested by the police over a tweet that seemed to mock Aisha, the tweet, was posted in Hausa on June 2022, where he said: “Su mama anchi kudin talkawa ankoshi.”

translates as “Mama has eaten poor people’s money and is now full.”

On muhammad’s tweet, he attached photo of Aisha Buhari.

According to BBC Hausa, C.K. Agu, Muhammad’s lawyer, said the order for his remand was given on Tuesday when he was arraigned before a high court in the federal capital territory (FCT).

“He is currently being held in Suleja prison before the bail application is heard,” the lawyer was quoted as saying.
