In order to fight, grab, and run away with political power, says Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress's presidential candidate for the 2023 elections, has instructed key campaign staff.
A video showed Tinubu lecturing several senior party members in London. Following his attendance at a Chatham House event earlier in the week, he has stayed in the United Kingdom.
“Political power is not going to be served in a restaurant. They don’t serve it a la carte. At all cost, fight for it, grab it and run with it,” Tinubu said.
In control of Lagos politics ever since becoming the city's governor in 1999, Tinubu is Nigeria's financial hub.
His supporters view such as evidence of his political savviness, while the opposition claims that the former governor uses harsh tactics, such as using violence, to thwart elections in opposition strongholds.
