I'm not joining with any party or candidate, says Kwankwaso

 senator Musa Kwakwanso, the presidential candidate for the New Nigeria Peoples Party, called the proponents of his rumored merger with another party failed politicians on Thursday.

Just moments after addressing NNPP members at the party office in the state capital, Kwankwaso made this statement while dealing with reporters in Abeokuta.

Prior to the elections in 2019, the NNPP presidential candidate denied having any plans to combine the party with other political parties.

Says Kwakwanso “That’s absolute nonsense. You see we believe that we are not above the three or four parties in this country, but by 2023, next year, by the grace of God, the NNPP will win the election at national and all other levels.

“So, these are people who are failed politicians who have nothing to tell Nigerians other than to spread unnecessary rumour of a merger.

“Merger is already gone. We have our candidates. In all the parties, everybody is campaigning. So, disregard that nonsense.”

When asked if he would stand aside for any contender, Kwankwaso, however, he said “don’t ask me that rubbish.”

The presidential contender promised to bolster Nigeria's armed forces with one million recruits if elected president while speaking to NNPP members.

He continued by saying that his government would support citizens' access to education at all levels and give youth and women's empowerment top priority.

Olaposi Oginni, the party's state chairman, urged Nigerians against electing the All Progressives Congress to both state and federal office.

Oginni declared: “Only lunatics would vote for the APC.”

He claimed that no Nigerian was anticipated to vote for the governing party in 2023 owing to the severity of the sufferings and the dire state of the economy under the APC government.
