Niger lawmakers call on the government to automatically hire N-Power recipients.

The Niger State House of Assembly has urged the State Government to automatically hire qualified N-Power Beneficiaries in the ongoing staff recruitment process.

Following a motion made by Haruna, a member of the house who represents the Bida 2 constituency, the decision was made.

The lawmaker pointed out that the majority of N-Power recipients not only possess the necessary credentials but also have experience thanks to the tasks they undertook while participating in the program.

He claims that ” giving them automatic consideration in the ongoing recruitment exercise would go a long way in bringing good hands on board in the state”

“This is because the N-Power programme was designed to assist Nigerian youths in acquiring and developing life-long skills for becoming change-makers in the community and to address issues of unemployment”.

Youths in the state have benefited greatly from the initiative, Haruna also informed the House. They now have a source of money, and it has also decreased the amount of idleness among them.

The lawmaker added,” the dearth of manpower in the civil service over the years had been augmented by the availability of N-Power Beneficiaries. Their positive impact was particularly felt in schools across Niger state, hence the need to consider them”.
