The event, according to Prince Emma Kanu, came as a result of the federal government's incapacity to continue caring for his older brother, the IPOB leader.
He claims that the DSS informed him yesterday that there wasn't enough money for his normal meals and medications. In response, the family would create a check for one million nairas, which will be sent to the DSS by Ozekhome, to cover his feeding.
The development comes in the wake of a new report from Kanu's Special Counsel Aloy Ejimakor, who said that the IPOB leader has gone nine days without receiving his medication and hasn't eaten when he saw him on Thursday because the DSS claimed there wasn't any money. In a tweet posted on Thursday, Ejimakor claimed that his client had claimed during a regular visit to the IPOB leader being held by the DSS in Abuja.
Kanu's attorney emphasized that the IPOB leader skipped meals on Thursday because the secret agency's agents said there wasn't enough money to purchase his food.
The attorney who claimed to have visited Kanu with Prince Emma Kanu and Barrister Nnaemeka Ejiofor said that Kanu gave him the go-ahead to reveal the details of his treatment by the DSS.
But in response to the change, Kanu's younger brother stated, “This is a confirmed story. “Yesterday (Thursday), when we visited him, he has not had any food.
“I asked them (DSS) why they said that there is no money for his regular meal and that they don’t have any money.
“So, we have also explained everything to the SAN, Mike Ozekhome.
“By today, SAN will prepare a cheque of N1m to be handed over to the DSS for his feeding.
“I will also make sure I raise money and take the DSS along with me to make sure he has enough food to eat since the federal government can’t take care of him.”
