Nigerians have been urged by President Muhammadu Buhari to accept personal accountability for improving the nation's political and economic situation.
The announcement was delivered by the President during the National Qur'anic Recitation Competition's conclusion ceremony on Saturday in Gusau.
Each person must work to alter the nation's socioeconomic and political issues, according to Buhari, who was represented by Minister of Communications and the Digital Economy Prof. Isah Ali Pantami.
Every Nigerian must behave morally to create a better society, even though leaders had a bigger responsibility to play than others.
The president urged all leaders to treat their followers with justice, fairness, and kindness while simultaneously urging their followers to accept their authority and uphold the law.
He continued by saying that if followers respected the law, Nigeria would improve.
He continued by praising the Sultanate Council and Usmanu Danfodio University in Sokoto for having established and continued the Qur'anic Recitation Competition for 37 years across the federation.
And similarly praised the Zamfara State Government and its residents for showing hospitality to the Young People of God who came to the state to compete.
In addition, Aljaji Sa'ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto, stated that the Sultanate Council will work with Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto, to guarantee that thousands of readers continue their investigation and study of the Holly book.
The Sultan also stated that in order to bring back peace and stability to the nation, greater thought should be given to Qur'anic studies.
Alhaji Bello Matawalle, the governor of Zamfara State, expressed gratitude to the National Committee of Musabaka for providing the state with the chance to host the 37th session of the competition in his comments.
He said that by establishing 11 Sharia Institutions in the state, his government had made the spread and promotion of Islamic education a priority.
In his remarks, the Zamfara State Governor, Alhaji Bello Matawalle, thanked the National Committee of Musabaka for giving the state the opportunity to host the 37th session of the competition.
He said his administration had given priority to the propagation and promotion of Islamic teaching through establishment of 11 Sharia Institutions in the state.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Aishatu Abdulmutallab of Yobe won the female category and was named the winner of the year by the wife of the governor of Zamfara state, Aisha Bello Matawalle, while Nura Abdullahi of Sokoto State took home the overall prize and was named hero of the year by the Sultanate.
