Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State recently explained why the APC Governors from the North unanimously supported their party's presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.
He noted that Tinubu had demonstrated strong leadership and visionary ideas for Nigeria, having overseen massive infrastructural and economic development in his home state of Lagos over the past few decades.
Furthermore, he stressed that Tinubu was committed to providing equal opportunity for all parts of the country regardless of ethnicity or political affiliations.
Finally, El-Rufai stated that it was due to Tinubu’s long-term dedication to service that inspired the North’s governors to pledge their allegiance to him in order to help ensure a prosperous future for Nigeria as a whole.

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, explained the decision during a town hall meeting with representatives from Northern Christian groups.
El-Rufai emphasized that Tinubu was selected based on his successful tenure as Governor of Lagos State, when he demonstrated a strong commitment to improving the state for all of its citizens.

According to El-Rufai: “In the spirit of unity, fairness and justice in the country, after President Buhari’s tenure, it is fair that the Presidency should go to the South.
“And we converged in Katsina Lodge before Governor Aminu Bello Masari that said that among all the presidential candidates, we should go for Ahmed Tinubu because of his track records while he was governor of Lagos.”
