Tinubu Gets Support, Donates N35m For Orphanage Building

 A Muslim religious group called Fityanul Islam of Nigeria (FIN) has endorsed Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC's presidential candidate, ahead of the general elections in 2023.

At a group fundraiser on Thursday at the National University Commission Hall in Abuja to support the thousands of orphans who lost their parents in the numerous terrorist attacks across the nation, FIN President Sheikh Muhammad-Arabi Ahmad Abdulfathi announced FIN's support for the Tinubu/Shettima presidential ticket.

He said that their support for the Tinubu/Shettima ticket was not motivated by his identification with a particular religion but rather by his qualifications and track record.

He urged his followers throughout the nation to cast their votes in large numbers for Kashim Shettima, the former governor of Borno State and Tinubu's running mate, in the general election. He claimed that they would be the best candidates for Nigeria in 2023.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu, an early APC presidential candidate, gave the project a donation of N25 million. He served as the project's chief launcher and chairman of the special fundraising for the construction of an orphanage and skills development center.

Kashim Shettima, Mr. Tinubu's running partner, announced the contribution and contributed N10 million to the initiative as well.

Shettima, who served as the fundraising committee's chairman in place of his principle, said that the payment was made as a sadaqatul jariyah (charity) that would assist the pioneering Muslim organisation both now and in the hereafter.

“Caring for orphans is a significant part of Islam, orphans are mentioned 52 times in the Holy Quar’an and Allah describes the righteous in Paradise as being those who took care of orphans during their worldly life, this encapsulate the importance of caring for orphans as the best investment for here and hereafter. It is not about the beautiful car, houses and power we acquired in this world,” Shettima said.

Senator Uba Sani, an APC candidate for governor in Kaduna State, also contributed N20 million to the construction of an orphanage and a center for skill development that would be named after the late Sheikh Ibrahim Inyass, a revered figure in Islam.
