Alhaji Hassan Jika Ardo, a former Nigerian ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, claims that the Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, is attempting to sabotage the upcoming Taraba State gubernatorial and state house of assembly elections.
The intentions to rig the election in the state utilizing Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, personnel, and security agencies have been discovered, according to Ardo, an APC chieftain.
At Jalingo, the state capital, during a Sunday interactive session with media representatives, he made this statement and urged the electorate to go above and beyond what is legally required to stop the plans from moving through.
As the State Coordinator for President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Independent Grassroots Presidential Campaign Council, IGPCC, Ardo stated that the PDP's jitteriness is evident from her extensive interactions with grassroots supporters and other key players.
He claims that the PDP has decided to utilize different tactics to win the election at any cost since it is incensed by the APC's widespread support in the state.
“The scheme is to ensure that election materials arrive very late especially in the hinterlands so that the election will run into the night when they will perform their devilish acts. Another tactic is to make sure that certain sensitive materials do not come to the polling units at all or they will bring fake results sheets and create confusion,” He claimed.
He warned the electorates not to impose their laws, but to uphold the rules of the nation and safeguard their votes at all costs.
